What types of medication do you offer? We offer Glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1s), from FDA regulated pharmacies in the United States. GLP-1 is a hormone produced in the small intestine that stimulates insulin secretion and inhibits glucagon secretion, thereby lowering blood sugar. There are two primary types of GLP1s - Semaglutide and Tirzepatide. Both of these are injected subcutaneously into the skin.
-
What is Semaglutide?Semaglutide is a GLP-1 that was approved in 2020 as a treatment method for improving glycemic control in patients with Type-2 diabetes. Studies have demonstrated that Semaglutide reduced appetite, improved control of eating and reduced food cravings in addition to improved glycemic control. The greatest weight loss benefits were observed when Semaglutide was used in combination with lifestyle changes, such as improved diet and consistent exercise. The under-the-skin injection marks a significant advancement in chronic weight management. Tailored for adults with obesity or overweight conditions, this medication offers a promising solution for long-term weight control. Administered via a simple injection, it targets excess fat, providing new hope for those facing obesity and related health risks.
-
How quickly will I lose weight? This of course, varies from person to person and the dose you are taking. People are generally started on a low dose with a gradual increase. Clinical studies have varied, but have shown up to 20% or more of body weight loss in the first year for most people.
-
What are expected side effects of semaglutide? The most common side effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, and constipation. The risk of serious side effects increases in patients with hypoglycemia, kidney problems, and people who are at risk of allergic reactions.
-
What should I do to increase my chances of success?Beginning or maintaining an exercise routine is important, especially weight training. You want to maintain or improve your muscle mass as you lose weight. Ensuring you consume enough protein aids with this as well. As you become less hungry, you may consume less nutrients. Taking a multi-vitamin could help.
-
Do I have to continue taking the medication for life? No, you do not. Once you reach your desired weight, you can stop taking the medication. You should not gain weight as long as you maintain your new set point and maintain a healthy lifestyle. You should talk to our provider about the correct way to stop. Some people continue to take a maintenance dose, but it is not required.
-
Does it matter when I take my medication? It is recommended that you take it on the same day every week at the most convenient time for you. You can change the day of the week you take it as long as your last dose was given 2 or more days before.
-
What are the contraindications for this medication (who shouldn't take this)? The provider will go over this with you. However, the big items are pregnancy, breastfeeding, pancreatitis, or a family history of medullary thyroid cancer.
-
Why should I use GLP-1s over traditional weight loss?GLP-1s, or glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists, offer several advantages over traditional weight loss methods. These medications help regulate your appetite and blood sugar levels, making you feel fuller for longer and reducing cravings. This can lead to more consistent and significant weight loss compared to diet and exercise alone. Additionally, GLP-1s can improve overall metabolic health, which is beneficial for long-term weight management. It has also been shown to improve fertility, help quit smoking, support heart health, and aide in neuroprotection, especially for those with PCOS. By encouraging healthier eating habits, it promotes ongoing weight loss and overall well-being.

What is the 3D Health Scan?We use the Styku scanner, creates a 3D image of your body through a full-body infrared scan (clothes on) in less than a minute, with results in about 3 minutes.
